Joint Mechanism for Interim Admin - JVP
jvp leader and mps
jvp against joint tsunami mechanism
Tamil tigers are presenting the ' interm administration' in the guise of 'Tsunami Joint Mechanism', says the leader of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna(JVP), Somawansa Amerasinghe.

"LTTE is attempting to establish a separate state by war or peace", he said at a news confernce in Colombo on Tuesday.

JVP leader said that the government has no right to go for a joint mechanism with LTTE which has weapons in their hands.

"The government has effectively carried out tsunami relief programmes. That is why not a single case of contageous desease was found against such a massive destruction", he said.

Though the facts being such, he said, international community has been pressurising the government to agree on the joint tsunami mechanism.

Challenging the LTTE he asked "Can Tamil Tigers give an assurance that they are going to establish democracy in the north and east with the Joint Tsunami Mechanism?"

It will not happen. Here, the International community is not fair by their judgement, he added.
