stop criticising each other - Anura Bandaranaike
The Leaders of the Sri lanka Freedom party (SLFP) and the Janatha Vimukti Peramuna (JVP) emphasised in a joint press conference held in Anuradhapura that despite recent differences they are still very much together.

The press conference was held as part of the one year commemoration of the ruling party alliance.

Addressing the press conference Minister Anura Bandaranaike said that there are many including the main opposition, Tamil tigers and non governmental organizations that are looking forward towards the collapse of the alliance.

He went on to say that if the JVP moves away the government would be pushed out of office.

Athula Bandara reporting from Anuradhapura says that Anura Bandaranaike was critical towards the Deputy Ministers who give press interviews denouncing the JVP.

He said “there have been careless utterances from both sides but there is more blame on our side"

Anura Bandaranaike also added that it is the responsibility of the President not to turn her friends in to enemies. The Presidient has been very critical of the JVP in the recent past.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksha who participated in the religious ceremonies did not participate in the press conference.

Echoing Anura Bandaranaikes comments JVP Parliamentarian Wimal weerawansa said that the wish of the Opposition for the alliance to collapse is nothing more than a dream.
