Two factions of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) are engaged in a war of words over alleged suspension of senior leader, Wimal Weerawansa. Ten JVP parliamentarians on Tuesday expressed support to Mr. Weerawansa after he told the parliament that JVP leaders have 'shot him from the back'. The JVP leadership, meanwhile, accused the Propaganda Secretary of working against the party policies. Have your say. JVP after 1971 struggle made public confession on short comings of the party. The party had a need of clearing people who had power hunger, some with Capitalist mind socialist heart. Since JVP join the government with few ministries I expected changers in mindset membership and leadership. It is time to clear. Politics make strange bedfellows. I think the Leader of the JVP (Somawansha and the CC) should be sacked by the members of it. Because they are acting as idiots. They have taken votes,helps from poor people by saying that they are taking the party towards to rescue the Country first and Now to see they all are playing fools. Now All leaders of JVP are jokers. With all the BULL talk at the begining, the JVP have proved its self as another cheap power hungry political party, which is in power for its own personal gains of its members. 60 after independance what have any politician achieved for Sri lanka? Mahinda, Ranil, Wimal all of them are same. The parties like JVP is necessary in Sri Lankan political enviornment. They influence people's behavior. But members like Wimal has misunderstood their real responsibility for Sri Lankan society. Wimal or any other JVP members cannot survive without JVP. The party couldn't destroy after Wijeweera, will it destroy when Wimal quit the party? It is really shame to hear such conflict with in the JVP party. For the sake of thousands of people who died for the party as well as the country during the 1970s and late 1980s,they should work together to eradicate the curruptions of the party politics and to create a better country. This is the real nature of JVP Somawansa and others are just bunch of Fool. Both Wansas washing dirty linnen in public. I do not know who is right and who is wropng. But I cannot agree with washing dirty linnen in public. What is the objective and what is the gain expected by WW speaking his grievances in the parliment. He should have done that in front of his fellow party members. It is not acceptable that leader of a political party specialy JVP (Somawansa) talking about sily things like rest houses. Good news, for the JVP had misled the masses by claiming the UNP party was to divide the country & then toppled the UNP government & supported the SLFP to form the existing one, which re-started the futile war & reversed all the gains attained during the ceasefire agreement with LTTE. It is sad to hear that JVP is splitting it was the only party with minimum internal fire. If the party has internal problem, those must be solved inside the party memebers itself and do NOT give "Internal Fire" to go outside. Leaders of JVP are spitting on their own faces.Wimal was the "Public Face" of JVP and his absence will ruin JVP eventually as expected by UNP.Even if there is a "JVP" it will just be a nominal party which can not influence any matter required by people of Sri Lanka. Instead of trying their leader Wijeweera, publicly, in the process of law, they shot,him, secretly,one dark night near a burial ground in Colombo. Since then this party has changed from "Janatha" to "Jathika" Vimukthi Perumana. The problem is with those who thought they solved the problem by murdering Wijeweera.They didn't solve it, they split the problem. JVP must understand this. Most of the people who vote for JVP will waste their time judging which fraction is right or wrong. End of the day they will be with the party who is doing the best to Sri Lanka.
Only the uneducated, selfish idiots can celebrate IF JVP split in the near future. If that happen, the intelligent, educated people who love the mother Lanka will come up and start a new SOCIALIST front. Sadly most of the idiots dont understand this current system will widen the gap between the rich and poor people of this country. Wimal is not a socialist by any mean, he belongs to the same class of Mahinda & Ranil. Now Wimal is gone. When Somawansha departs well have a real hope for a better tomorrow. This is an unavoidable split within a totalitarian party.This kind of a split took place in the LTTE,another totalitarian party,in the form of Karuna and Velupillai. JVP is most unwanted political part in Sri Lanka. Earlier they suppoted to Mahina Rajapakse to gain narrow political benefits. The economic situation in the country is getting bad to worst. No any action been taken by JVP to protect innocent people who eat only one meal a day. Corruption is a major problem within the party. I think it is a timely decision taken by the JVP to remove Wimal Weerawansa from JVP. A former leader of a so called marxist party is weeping that he could not go to SRI PADA and brought his complains to the speaker of a capitalist parliement. Ane Kalee Vane Vasee! Mr.Wimal Weerawansa is the back bone of JVP. Mr.Somawansa Amarasinghe is only a puppet in the party. If there is any dispute in the party, that should be solved internaly. No one should critizise each other. First of all JVP should realize that most of the corrupted politicians are trying their best to destroy JVP. The JVP is the only party in the parliament to critzise all corruptions in Sri Lanka. Infact it is a very sad story and Mr. Somawansa Amarasinghe should take all responsibilities, if JVP collapsed.
Forget jvp a buch of gangsters and fools,they talk big but no action. Time will show us who are the conspirators. However, the most important thing is who is doing the correct thing to the country. No matter JVP will flourish or vanish, Sri Lanka should win at the end. Its my observation that JVP'ers are a bunch of "Hot head's. Their's lots of intimidations, harresments and of cause disappearances in the past on whoever airs a rational view. This is a type of real hatred potitics.This type of politics no good for Srilanka in this century. Ideally the JVP is getting what they deserve. Being a group that is responsible for the murder of many innocent sinhalese youth, this is just karma striking back. Mr. Weerawansa and Mr. Amerasinghe are the biggest hypocrites. Both preach equality and that they are the poor persons man, but in reality they, like most politicians in our country, run at the first sign of trouble. And as history has shown they keep switching sides like a pendulum. Sri Lanka is among the most DANGEROUS places on earth for humanitarian workers, the UNs aid chief Holmes says. Aid agencies say more than 45 humanitarian staff have been killed in Sri Lanka since January 2006. Even International Aid workers are not safe in Sri Lanka. YOU CAN imagine the situation of TAMILS in Sri Lanka. All the problems (including economic, crime, cost of living.....) in Sri Lanka is directly or indirectly related to Tamil Tiger Terrorism. Their no point in blaming JVP for the problems. Wimal Weerawansa is a charismatic patriotic future leader of JVP, the current leadership is insecure about Wimal's popularity. Traitors like UNP and other supporters of Tamil Terrorism will be happy. The fact is a weaker JVP means strengthening of the Rajapaksa government and the end of LTTE terrorism. President Rajapaksa's government is the only government which clearly understood the problems of Sri Lanka and trying to solve them unfortunately the Tamil Tiger terrorism is like a 25 year old cancer. Many Sri Lankans would not care about such a split. From independence in 1948, Sri Lanka is governed by opportunist-politicians. They have confused the majority of Sinhala people, kept them poor, ignorant and prejudiced: The only thing they are clear about is in destroying the Tamil people in Sri Lanka. This is real shock to mother Lanka, there may be a great conspiracy. JVP needs and will have to have clean hands. It must not be a party like others. Now Mr. Weerawansha will not have any fear to undergo party investigation because he has disclosed the situation to the public. This is his chance to prove there is no any conspiracy and he is a clean man and sprit of JVP He should respect the majority. If you are so clean as you talk we need you on the flat form of JVP but not others because we believe other places are not clean. I dont know that weather this will be appeared on the web. Because everyone has a role, it is true for the BBC too.
Wimal Weerawansa worked so hard to destoy the CFA. He carried insults to Ranil. He speaks emotions and not reasons. He can never dameged Ranil or the UNP. They only got 4% of the national vote and try to behave they are as the real power in the land. get real. Wimal deserve what he got. He can always join Mahinda and get a cabinet post as Mahinda gives them to any dog. JVP is a party born from the spilled blood of hundreds of innocent Sinhalese youth and destroyed families. When the going got tough their leaders fled to comforts of UK. If justice prevails the party should be destroyed for ever. When the right thing is not done by the right people at the right time, hard to avoid situations like this. As Lord Buddha saidevery this is anithya ( destroying )so that is same applicable to jvp, too. They preach never practice. They are also responsible for the downfall of this country.
JVP is a great party which can represent general people. If they are not in politics UNP will destroy the country and will definetly give Eelam. So do not split go forward to work for the beterment of the country. This is what happen to opportunits. Even underworld thugs can form an organisation. But a political party cannit exist without proper principles. This is a great day for SL. Hopefully this will be the begining of the end for marxism in SL. The JVP totally responsible for all the labour problems SL has. jvp has taken a right decision.accordng to my opinion, now jvp can go forward as a leftist revolutionay party without (piyarubabalas)there are enough revolutionist in the party. be courage and strong. JVP is reponsible for the abrogation of the peace agreement. Mahinda's group is manupilating JVP. JVP do not have marxist policies other than communal policy. This split is good for the country. If someone was vigilant about JVP in past few years he must have smelt this split a while ago. There were two groups in JVP. For one group the country came first. For the other it was the "theory". Both tried to blend them together but it has proved impossible. It is a pity that there is a split in the JVP. I really appreciate the Sandesaya Sinhala Programme giving us all the information about the JVP Split and other political situation in Sri Lanka. There was no JVP after Wejeweera the great. Somawansa and others are just a bunch of fools. Time to time people come to power in sri Lanka without a proper agenda. They have there own aims. This beautiful land will go down until we find leaders like DS,JR,etc.One day someone will come and save my mother land. Thats the only hope and wish we can have. This is the real nature of JVP. JVP is a party with no Principles or Clear Poilicies. There Stances are like the Cost of living in sri lanka. best thing that could happen to SL is the downfall of the JVP. JVP should be removed from ploitics in Sri Lanka completely. They are the main party in the country's down. They should not be in politics at all. The JVP are the most disciplined party in Parliament.Even though some may not agree with their policies,at least they are honest. When JVP members and then SLFP (Mahinda's Party) government troops fought in 1971 ,Iwas there to withness the killing and raping. They all are the same whatever name they take- weerawanse,or mahinda or somawanse or prabaharawanse all are doing the same. JVP is resposible for the present downfall of Sri lanka. They are a bunch of uneducated crooks and Gangsters. JVP has lost the confidence of ordinary people especially majority working class, long ago. Their downfall began with the allegiance with SLFP led Peoples Alliance. Mahinda Rajapakse government put the final nail in JVP coffin. That was a terrible mistake. It is the fate of all socialist movements in Sri Lanka. JVP is a product of mismanagement and unsuitable educational system of Sri Lanka. Most of the JVP middel upper Level leaders today har minimal knowledge in English and moden technology even though many has University Education. It shows they survive by giving false hope to Singhalese poor masses of the South. Their economical and Social policy can be described as worst case for free thinking people. So they split into two groups just makes things better direction. I hope this will happen once more in the LTTE once more so these to groups became weaker to stop the progress of Sri Lanka. Some pepoles are looking for disasters to enjoy with it. This is not a wonderfull duty of a media. Media should always consider a trouble free environment. It is better to wish them to be gathered again to take this country towards the success. JVP commrads are thousnd times better that SLFP and UNP cheaters. First of all the very reason of the Country down fall is them, Sankes are Snakes you should not have them in Parliment, The country is better without them. They are a bunch of Crooks. What Sri Lanka needs today is a King Asoka That is rise above war and politics and politics of war, in the name of Peace. Give out maximum devolution, win over the world, peace lovers and put an end to the survival of extremists on all sides. The new King Asoka will have to be someone who could sell this to vision to the masses in all ethnicity, particularly in the majority This Somawansa, do not have any qualification to be the leader of JVP. Now he is envy of the real qualified and clever, potential leader Wimal Weerawansa. The JVP is nothing without WW. Most humerously Somawansa is talking about "rest houses". Did he think that country had forgotten about the "lowest level of Rest House".
