Eros International announced today the selection of their film, Om Shanti Om, for Berlinale Special at the Berlin Film Festival 2008.

As part of their official programme, the Berlinale Special shows films from contemporary filmmakers by honouring great cinema personalities.

Films which deserve special attention due to current events can also be shown as part of the Berlinale Special.

Shah Rukh Khan's Om Shanti Om is one of eleven films selected this year.

Directed by Farah Khan and produced by Gauri Khan, Om Shanti Om stars superstar Shah Rukh Khan, glamorous Deepika Padukone, debonair Arjun Rampal and talented Shreyas Talpade.

The film will have a German premiere at the festival on 8 February, attended by King Khan himself.

Om Shanti Om has done extraordinary business in the UK cinemas grossing an amazing figure of around £1.5 million at the box office.
