Those who have heard the soundtrack from the film, Welcome know that the lyrics of the title song is as follows, 'Welcome, Welcome To The Party, Welcome....' But on watching the promos on television, one sees the inclusion of the word 'Christmas': 'Welcome, Welcome to the Christmas party, Welcome....'
It was Akshay Kumar's idea to orientate the fun-filled number towards the Christmas season when this film is appropriately being released. After this was discussed with director Aneez Bazmee and producer Firoz Nadiadwala, Wajid was asked to come in and make the minor addition of Christmas, which has been retained for the film's on-air promotion and in the final print as well.
Coincidentally, the song, Insha Allah in the film has also released on satellite television before Eid. Remarks Akshay: "Welcome is a film about fun, frolic and laughter. It's a film about celebration and we agreed that it would be nice to incorporate the Christmas angle in the title track to make it even more topical and relevant to the festive season."
Also, while shooting for the film in Dubai, Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar decided to surprise Feroz Khan, the most senior actor in the unit of Welcome, by booking him The Grand Suite at the hotel they were staying. The suite is the poshest and most expensive in the hotel. The senior Khan, extremely touched by their gesture, invited the entire unit of the film, including Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, to his suite for drinks and merry-making the night before the shoot kicked off.
The family vibe on the set most certainly appears to have translated into the film's sparkling promos!
