| | Uday Shetty (Nana Patekar), Majnu (Anil Kapoor) and their boss, Sikander (Feroz Khan), are Hong Kong-based mobsters. | Akshay Kumar in Welcome |
They are keen to get their sister Sanjana (Katrina Kaif) married into a respectable family. A chance meeting with a handsome bachelor, Rajiv (Akshay Kumar), convinces Uday that he is the appropriate match for Sanjana. However, Rajiv's uncle, Dr. Ghunghroo (Paresh Rawal) does not approve of his nephew's association with a dubious family. Meanwhile, Sanjana, unaware of her brothers' plans, meets Rajiv on a cruise and the two fall in love. She is immediately accepted by Dr. Ghunghroo, who is unaware that she is the sister of a Mafia gang. | Anil Kapoor, Akshay and Katrina Kaif |
But when he realises the truth about Sanjana's family, hilarity ensues as each of the diametrically different brothers begin to engage in smart comic stunts to get the uncle to agree to the alliance. This comic caper takes another turn when stunning girl (Mallika Sherawat) enters their lives claiming to be Rajiv's fiancée. What follows next is a sequence of commotion and mayhem as each character tries to outdo each other in order to please Rajiv's dad. From the producers of Hera Pheri and Phir Hera Pheri and the director of No Entry comes a mega Christmas. Boasting lavish locales, chartbusting music (Himesh Reshammiya, Sajid-Wajid, Anand Raj Anand) and major star power, will make Welcome the biggest knockabout comic caper of 2007. With excellent comic timing by Akshay Kumar, this film is a must-see this festive season which is being released by Studio 18in the UK cinemas on 21 December 2007.
