| Paying tribute to the 1970's Hindi film industry, junior artist, Makhija (Khan) is shooting for the song sequence along with his sidekick Pappu Master (Shreyas). With dreams of becoming a mega Bollywood star he is in love with actress Shanti (Deepika), and through some remarkable coincidences, he captures her attention. But just when life was going his way, Makhija is shocked to find Shanti in love with her producer (Arjun) whose own personal greed leads to her murder and death of Makhija, who are then reborn. Thirty years on, Makhija now Om Kapoor (Khan) experiences flashes of his past life. He decides to solve the murder mystery with the help of Shanti now known as Sandy with a shocking twist in the climax scene in this all out Bollywood entertainer. Director Farah Khan takes a tongue and cheek nostalgic look at the 70's Bollywood and fast forwards to present day also delving into reincarnation. A typical Bollywood masala flick, Om Shanti Om has got it all - comedy aplenty, emotions in abundance, larger than life sets, spectacular dance sequences and melodious musical score. Khan is in his element once again in the comedy and emotional scenes proving yet again that he is the King of Bollywood! Photogenic, super model-turned actress Deepika Padukone flawlessly has the same screen presence as King Khan proving she has all the makings of a Bollywood superstar. Arjun Rampal as the cunning producer whose past catches up with him in the shocking climax scene is simply brilliant whilst Shreyas Talpade gives a confident portrayal as Om's best buddy throughout. On the whole, Om Shanti Om is a wholesome entertainer. You will come out smiling! Already in the UK top ten and climbing high in the coming weeks, this one is worth seeing!
