As he drifts out of from the marriage congregation, he does not have the courage to return home. So he finds himself on a train, speeding away into the night. On the train, Aditya bumps into Geet (Kareena Kapoor), a young girl leaving Mumbai to meet up with her boyfriend with plans to elope. As the journey progresses, Geet irritates Aditya to the point of leaving the train. As she tries to get him back on, they both end up missing it. So they find themselves stranded on a desolate station with no luggage or money. And so begins an idyllic journey in which this odd couple make their way using buses, taxis and camel-carts as they cross deserts and lakes. They finally reach Geet's house, through highs and lows, only to be mistaken as lovers by the family upon their arrival.  | Kareena Kapoor in Jab We Met |
As Geet plans to run away to Manali to meet the man of her dreams one more time, Aditya returns to Mumbai to concentrate on his business. It is not long before Geet's family confronts Aditya, thinking that she is with him all the time. A shocked Aditya takes it upon himself to find her. He finally tracks her down in a Himalayan town where another homeward bound journey begins. Once on their way, they realise that they are meant to be together in. Jab We Met is directed Imtiaz Ali who made Socha Na Tha (2004) which starred Ayesha Takia and Abhay Deol. He returns back onto the Bollywood scene with Jab We Met (meaning when we met) starring the Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapur. The film is being released in the UK cinemas by Studio 18 based in London.
