180 Himachali dancers for Jab We Met

The popular Yeh Ishq song from Imtiaz Ali's Jab We Met was choreographed by Saroj Khan in the beautiful town of Manali, the North Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.

Not many know that more than 180 dancers from different parts of Himachal Pradesh were especially called upon to participate in that song sequence alongside Kareena.

"We had local dance troupes from Tibet, Chamba, Bilaspur, Kinnor, Dharamshala, Hamirpur and Kullu." says Imtiaz.

In fact, the veteran Saroj Khan was so impressed with their local style of dancing that she decided to choose a winner amongst them all which turns out to be the dancers from Tibet.

Jab We Met releases in the UK cinemas on 26 October 2007 by Studio 18 based in London.
