Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's forthcoming film Saawariya, has been confirmed for a 9 November 2007 release in the UK cinemas.

Ranbir Kapoor the new kid on the Bollywood block

Sawaariya, which is being released by the American distributor, Sony Pictures sees the Bollywood debut of young Ranbir Kapoor who has already impressed other directors like Yash Chopra with his talents.

Based on Fyodor Dostoevsky's story, White Nights, in Sawaariya, Ranbir plays a Hindu boy who falls in love with a Muslim girl, a character played by Sonam Kapoor.

Great secrecy surrounds this film project as director Bhansali refuses to divulge any information prior to its cinema release.

Impressed by his acting talents, Yash Chopra has signed up this newcomer for three films starting with Dhoom 3 in which Shah Rukh Khan plays the bad guy.

So it looks like this young man will be the talk of the Bollywood tinsel town in days to come!
