Producers of the Company T series have recently bought the rights from Mukta Arts Ltd to remake director Subhash Ghai's all-time classic, Karz.

The new version is said to star Himesh Reshammiya.

Himesh is currently starring in Aap Ka Surroor which is being screened in UK cinemas.

Himesh, a musical director by profession, has made his acting debut in this thriller which is faring well at the UK box office.

In the new Karz, Himesh will play the role which veteran actor Rishi Kapoor acted in the original version. The rest of the cast is still to be finalised.

Meanwhile, the director of the new version of Karz is still to be decided. It is very unlikely that Mr Ghai will offer to re-direct this new version, as he directed the original version. Shooting schedule is said to start in August 2008.
