Partner enters UK Top 10 charts

Eros International's global release, Partner continues to occupy a firm position in the UK Top 10 for the second weekend since its release.

Directed by renowned comedy director David Dhawan and starring Bollywood superstars Salman Khan, Govinda, Lara Dutta and Katrina Kaif, the film has become a runaway box office success, taking more than $10million worldwide in the first weekend.

Partner has been in the UK charts at number 10, with a gross of £757,815 (source: EDI Neilson). That's despite facing some tough competition from some of the big Hollywood releases like The Simpsons Movie, Transformers, Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix, and Die Hard 4.0.

Vijay Ahuja, Executive Director and President International, Eros International Plc said, "A film combining talents like David Dhawan, Salman and Govinda is no doubt a sure-shot formula for box office success. There has been an excellent response to the superb chemistry between the lead actors and David Dhawan's inimitable sense of humour."

With Partner, Eros International continues its successful line up of Bollywood blockbusters with a major release practically every fortnight.

After the success of the critically acclaimed Omkara (inspired by Othello), Salaam-E-Ishq, Eklavya, Provoked, Namastey London, Cheeni Kum and many more, Eros has other releases in August 2007 including Heyy Babyy and the recently-released Gandhi My Father which has grossed £73,851 during its first week's screening in UK cinemas.
