Celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, The Cannes Film Festival opened on 16 May 2007. Once again Bollywood dignitaries are out in full force. As many as eight Indian films will be showcased, while some of the box office hits from this year's releases will be screened at the Tous les Cinémas du Monde (meaning world cinema) section. The first evening of this prestigious festival saw a glitzy premiere of My Blueberry Nights starring Jude Law and Natalie Portman. The film also stars singer Norah Jones, daughter of Pandit Ravi Shankar. Newly weds, Abhishek and Aishwarya were also present during the premiere. Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, soon to appear in Yash Raj Films release Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, also attended the screening.
