Shivam (Emraan Hashmi) loves the sight of a bird in full flight and the scent of morning dew. But his parched heart has never known or felt love. Throughout his childhood, he has served his boss with great loyalty. At the same time, his boss trusts him fully. So, he asks Shivam to keep an eye on his alluring girlfriend Reema (Shreya Saran) whom he has kept away from the eyes of his adversaries. But Shivam falls instantly in love with Reema's innocence and vulnerability. Reema gives Shivam a reason to believe that she likes him. But reality soon dawns on Shiyam when he finds that Reema has a secret lover tucked away and was planning to elope with him. Her game was merely a smoke screen created to gain freedom. A shattered Shivam is faced with a dilemma on realising that he has been heartlessly used. Does he inform Mallik or does he help his unrequited love to achieve the freedom she yearns for? Awarapan comes from the renowned Bollywood producers, Mukesh Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt. They are famous for crafting Bollywood's biggest musical hits, Zeher, Woh Lamhe and Gangster. Awarapan sees Bhatts' and Emraan Hashmi's first principal cinema release in the UK.
