After committing high profile crimes all over the world Aryan (Hrithik Roshan), a hi-tech international criminal, has set his sights on Mumbai. Police officer Jai Dixit (Abhishek Bachchan) and Ali (Uday Chopra) are given the assignment to bring Aryan to justice. They are ably aided by police officer Shonali Bose (Bipasha Basu) who has been keeping a close eye on Aryan for the last two years. Meanwhile Aryan finds his match in Sunhari (Aishwarya Rai), who decides she wants a piece of the action. So the two embark on a partnership deal to outdo the forces of justice. In classic cops and robbers tradition, the game of goodies versus badies unfolds at a fast, thrilling pace as this action-packed adventure shifts from the golden sand dunes of Namibia and the colourful Mardi Gras celebrations of Rio to the nailbiting climax in South Africa. Following on from Dhoom (2004), this sequel is much slicker, with never-seen-before action sequences, hi-tech heists, and high speed chases, coupled with non-stop laughter and excitement. Whilst Hrithik and Aishwarya join forces to concentrate on the tension-filled portion of the thriller, the Uday/ Bipasha pair provide you with lighter moments. Hrithik Roshan steals the show as Aryan, the smart thief ready to outdo police officers, well supported by Abhishek and Uday. Aishwarya surprises you too as the stunning tanned beauty who easily tackles every challenge put to her by Aryan. With its high-powered action sequences matching Hollywood standards, Dhoom 2 is a winner all the way at the box office! Reviewed by Manish Gajjar, BBC Bollywood Correspondent |
