This meant spending less time with his daughter, Shalini (Rani Mukerjee) who is quite intelligent like her father with a very feminist attitude. Then, there is Jai Varma (Shah Rukh Khan), a neurotic accountant working for Sharma Limited. One day he comes across a woman, changing him into the cool, womanizing, aggressive Michael. He starts living two different lives, one in the name of Jai and another in the name of Michael. Anand Bakshi (Abhishek Bachchan) is a journalist. When he bumps into Jai/Michael, Anand find what he is looking for to reach at the top. We also have Kiran Reddy (Preity Zinta), a nurse working in a mental hospital. She loves her work and loves helping people until one patient comes to the hospital... Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (meaning never say goodbye) is director Karan Johar's fourth film after Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kal Ho Naa Ho. The film focuses on the romance between Jai and Shalini who are already married to different partners. But Jai and Shalini still yearn for something deeper and more meaningful. So when these two people meet that's exactly what they find in each other. From a relationship starting off on pleasant terms, these two characters slowly begin to develop a liking for each other. When their feelings come to the fore, what results is a collision of lives and emotions, affecting everyone involved and changing them forever.
