| Yuva is a film about three young men who come from different walks of life. Michael (Ajay Devgan), a bright student, gets a chance to go to America to study for a PhD degree. French teacher, Radhika (Esha Deol) is Michael's girlfriend. She wants to get married but Michael wants a live-in relationship. Arjun Balakrishnan (Vivek Oberoi), is an engineer born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He has always had an easy life. He meets his other half (Kareena Kapoor) in a disco but she now wants to settle down too and raise a family.
The third character in this film, is Lallan (Abhishek Bachchan). Raised on the streets of Calcutta, he believes violence is the only way to get what he wants in life. He is married to Sashi (Rani Mukerjee) who tries to reform him. Director Mani Ratnam makes a comeback after his first Hindi venture, Dil Se in 1998 which starred Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala in lead roles. Due to his enormous popularity in South India, Mani has decided to release a Tamil version of Yuva titled Ayutha Ezhuthu. This version will star Surya, Madhavan, Siddharth, Meera Jasmine, Trisha Krishnan and Esha Deol. Sonu Sood, who won praise for his performance in the film, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, is playing the villain in Yuva. This film is worth a watch when it releases in the UK cinemas.
