Dushyant (Shah Rukh Khan), Jaya (Raveena Tandon), Sujit (Mohnish Bahl) and Nisha (Navneet Nishan) have been close friends since school. Dushyant dreams of becoming a singer, but is short of money to promote his ability. His girlfriend Jaya helps him to do just that. But when Dushyant becomes a singing sensation, he begins to pay less attention to Jaya. So tension is created in their relationship. Taking advantage of the situation, Sujit and Nisha start to poison Dushant's mind against Jaya. Why? Seeing that Dushyant is now loaded with money, Nisha wants to get married to him. Meanwhile, Nisha's father, Mr Dhingra, offers financial support to Dushyant but he declines his help. So Mr Dhingra and Sujit decide to carry out their plan of marrying Nisha to Dushyant so as to get their hands on his wealth. But Dushyant sees the better of them. What happens next is predictable fare and crammed full of cliches. Director Birendra Nath Tiwari 's Yeh Lamhe Jaadi Ke is sure to flop at the UK box office. This is due not only to a routine storyline seen thousands of times before but also the film took a long time in the making. The main drawback with this movie is that it has taken a long time in the making and even longer to reach the UK cinemas. Consequently, Shah Rukh and Raveena appear young and their costumes outdated which does not help the movie's selling. Apart from the main stars, the film consists of scenes involving a group of newcomers we have not seen before in Bollywood films. So the film loses its appeal. Also the director should have paid more attention to the song sequences. In one of the songs, we witness visuals of the main actors rather than the actors singing. The cinematography and dubbing appear shoddy throughout. On the whole, this film is best avoided unless you are a die hard Shah Rukh Khan fan who wishes to see each and every movie of his!
