Irrfan accepts role in Hollywood film

Irrfan Khan plays Nehru in Hollywood film

Irrfan Khan to play the part of Jawaharlal Nehru in the movie Indian Summer.

Irrfan Khan who was recently seen in Bollywood films Billu Barber alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Lara Dutta and in Yash Raj Films' New York, has been offered to play the role of Jawaharlal Nehru in the film, Indian Summer.

Indian Summer will be directed by Joe Wright, of the Atonement fame whilst the screenplay has been written by Gladiator writer William Nicholson.

The movie is based on Alex von Tunzelmann’s book, Indian Summer: The Secret History of the End of an Empire.

The movie will revolve around the relationship between Lady Mountbatten, wife of the last governor general of India and Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first prime minister. Cate Blanchett will play Lady Edwina Mountbatten in the movie.
