Renowned director Ashutosh Gowarikar of the Oscar nominated Lagaan fame, is to direct an English film based on the life of Lord Buddha. The script for this period epic has been written by Oscar winner David Ward. Shooting schedule is said to begin in May 2010. Pre-production work on the movie has already began. Directed by Gowarikar, Lord Buddha will be filmed on the foothills of the Himalayas and will be based in English.
