BBC Blast 2008

The Blast scheme will allow for a fresh look on the sports and the arts across the country with reporters looking at everything from kabaddi to cricket or ballet to bhangra!

Sport reporters

If you live and breathe sport and have the drive to succeed in your chosen area, you can share this passion with others at the BBC.

BBC Blast Reporters

You'll have the opportunity to record and write your own reports (don't worry, we'll help you!), you can see how radio programmes and web pages are put together and you will gain great experience to put on your CV.

You will need a proven interest in sport and be involved in sports in your community. You will also have the creativity to turn your ideas into content for radio and the web.

Arts reporters

This summer the BBC is looking for reporters to cover some of the best gigs and events around.

You'll be expected to report on everything about the arts in your area - and then get creative by writing reports, taking photos and even making videos about where you've been and what you've seen.

If you love the arts and want to the opportunity to share your thoughts, experiences and arts knowledge with our audiences, then Blast is for you!

You will need a proven interest in the arts and have a vision to turn your ideas into content for the web.

Blast Work Experience (WEX)

If media and event management is where your interests lie, then look no further. 

The Blast truck is set to unfold again

The BBC hosts a number of BBC Blast Tours over the summer and a BBC Blast Work Experience (WEX) would help with the event management of these tours. 

Candidates would gain an insight into various areas of media across the BBC, help with production schedules and event planning and work with local facilitators and youth arts organisations.
