On the day before Raymond and Shona's wedding, Roisin callled to say her flight had been cancelled and she's stranded in America. Despite this Shona refused to get upset and carried on with the wedding preparations. She even rose above the headaches she had been suffering from – all that mattered is marrying Raymond at last.

Gina offered to hold a small reception in 'The Oyster' after the wedding which Shona happily accepted. Meanwhile, Raymond had a brainwave and decided to try and buy the Tall Ship from the Murdochs as a wedding gift for Shona. With Roisin as his financial backer he surprised Lenny and Lydia by offering £10, 000 over the asking price. An excited Lydia accepted his offer unaware that Lenny had other some other plans up his sleeve…

Raymond told Shona the good news and she was over the moon. Later, he shared his good news with Jimmy, Deek and Bob when they took him out for a Stag Party. As they all celebrated Lenny revealed that he'd used Raymond's offer as leverage to get another potential buyer to raise his bid. Raymond doesn't own the Ship – Lenny has sold it to someone else! Lydia refused to forgive Lenny for what he'd done - she was shocked when he told her to grow up, and accept that part of running a legitimate business is making unpopular decisions.

Father Mulvaney bonded with Eileen in an attempt to win her round to Daniel's boxing club cause. Not realising that she knows Alex Judd, he invited her to his meeting with him to discuss where community money should go.

As dawn broke on the wedding day, Iona noticed that Shona wasn't exactly herself. Shona had been suffering dizzy spells but brushed off Iona's concern. As Shona left for the ceremony, a heartbroken Raymond rushed over to her, desperate to tell her they had lost the Ship but at that moment Shona collapsed and was rushed to hospital. The rest of the community was left stunned, gathered in 'The Oyster' to await news.

At the hospital the Doctor confirmed that Shona has suffered a second aneurism and that Raymond should prepare for the worst. Unbeknownst to Iona, Shona had suffered a previous aneurism but had kept it a secret shared only with Raymond and Roisin.

Meanwhile, Eileen and Mulvaney's meeting went well but back in Shieldinch Eileen discovered that the Father is in cahoots with Daniel and she exploded warning them not to get in her way.

Aware their time is running out, Shona and Raymond resolved to get married but without anyone to perform the ceremony it seemed their wedding dreams were not to be. When the tragic news reached their stunned friends in 'The Oyster' Eileen decided to put their fight aside and contact Father Mulvaney to ask for his help.

They made it to the hospital in time for Shona and Raymond to get married, while a brave Iona watched, doing her best to hold it together. Shona made Raymond promise to still buy the Ship… but then she died, leaving her family distraught.
