Daniel was utterly ashamed and couldn't bring himself to tell Marianne the truth, whereas Lenny relished rubbing Daniel's nose in his actions. The situation got worse when Malcolm finally decided to confront Daniel. Daniel begged him not to go to the police and Malcolm agreed to give him a chance. Even still, Daniel was gutted.
Meanwhile, Ewan was forced to come clean to Lenny about Sammi's knowledge of the hit and run. Lenny wasn't impressed and warned Ewan to keep Amber's name out of it. However, it was Marianne who figured out Amber's involvement and told Sammi to go to the police. When Sammi refused, Marianne set her mission for justice on the Murdoch household.
She warned Lydia about what she knows but Lydia stood her ground, claiming involving the police might not be such a good idea, given Daniel's 'recent behaviour'. Confused, Marianne gave Daniel the opportunity to confess but he didn't take it so when Lydia suggested a meeting, Marianne agreed. She was shocked to the core when she realised the extent of Daniel's violence. She then had to backtrack and convince Sammi not to go to the police.
Marianne confronted Daniel – he was repentant but became enraged at Marianne's disappointment in him and took his frustrations out by trashing The Base! Malcolm found him and counselled him but another confrontation with Lenny almost tipped him over the edge. Daniel ran off and returned to his old friends and haunts, and a life he thought he'd left behind.
Although Lydia was relieved at having dealt with Marianne, she was livid at Lenny for having put her in that position in the first place – from now on she wants honesty from him at all times or she walks.
Scott was offered a new job in London but had mixed feelings about leaving Ruth and Eilidh. Ruth told him she didn't feel she was coping well so he phoned up his new employer to turn down the job. Ruth felt guilty about holding Scott back but when she went to apologise he dropped another bombshell - Shieldinch holds too many bad memories for him so he's heading off to find himself in San Francisco!
Iona grew tired of constant check ups from Shona by phone and wanted her sister to let her get on with things. Unfortunately, this lack of trust became completely understandable when a mistake with a delivery left Iona with excessive amounts of fancy food to shift. Panicking, Iona let Deek step into the breach only for his supposed entrepreneurial skills to leave the Deli in a total mess, down a supplier and out of pocket.
Some wise words from Scott about new ventures rang true with Iona's current situation and she returned to the Deli with renewed vigour. She took control, cleaned everything up, got the supplier back on board and agreed to take back some stock. She finally called Shona and gratefully accepted her advice.
