Making the unmissable, unmissable!

Marty returned to Shieldinch! That came as a bit of a surprise to everyone. Everyone except Manu, that is, who'd sent him a pic of his secret daughter. Lenny spotted him and tried to send him packing but Scott was horrified when Marty turned up on the doorstep and pretended the baby didn't exist. Marty turned his attention to Ruth but she stuck to her story. Unfortunately, Iona wasn't in on the secret and let slip the truth. Soon Marty had burst into his old flat and Ruth reluctantly let him meet Eilidh. Amidst chaos, he managed to run away with the baby! That seemed to light some maternal spark in Ruth cos she led everyone in a search for her wee girl.

Marty ran from everyone and ended up on a rooftop, cradling Eilidh near the edge. Panic set in below and Ruth decided to go up there herself. After a few tense minutes, she managed to soft-soap him and fooled him into thinking they could be a family again. They kissed, she took Eilidh and promptly ran for her life! Gina and Scott got in the way of Marty, and Iona was the unlikely heroine when she took Ruth in to safety.

Ruth headed home to Scott and explained she wants to be Eilidh's mum again. He was a bit put out but understood and was willing to take a step back. In amongst all this, he'd discovered Manu was the one who told Marty about the baby. He couldn't forgive him and the pair split up.

Meanwhile, Lenny had taken charge of Marty again and used his usual violent methods of persuasion to get rid of him. Ruth stopped him before he got close to killing him and asked him to send Marty away on a train, and made her ex-husband promise never to return.

Amber told Gina that Jo was pregnant, which gave her quite a shock! Jo was given a hard time by everybody and Eileen was horrified to discover she doesn't even know if she's pregnant. She was persuaded to take a test but was gutted when it was negative. Eileen told her to admit the truth to Ewan but before she could he told her he was getting used to the idea of being a dad and that they would be fine.

Shona and Eileen discovered that Raymond is now skint. Sharon's cleared him out! Shona tried to help him but he turned to booze and was in a terrible state. His problems were having an effect on Scarlett and Jimmy, too. They worried about their own future.
