Joanne was fed up with the tension between Heather and Ewan and, not realising the tension was sexual, tried to push them together as friends! Ewan continued his charm offensive against his girlfriend's best friend and she resisted for oh so long... but then caved. Heather and Ewan kissed and he did everything he could to get more time alone with her. She told him it was definitely a mistake but there's no escaping that tension...
Eileen was furious with Raymond for putting the pub on the market without telling her but her anger was misplaced. Raymond was furious with Sharon whilst she tried to wriggle out of trouble with tales of prospective buyers. Jimmy and Scarlett set about trying to buy it but were massively disappointed when the bank failed to lend them the cash.
Sharon spotted an opportunity in Lenny and was delighted when he started to ask questions about it but Raymond was raging. He refused to accept Murdoch's offer. Instead, he started to listen to Eileen... she'd been unimpressed when Scarlett and Jimmy got involved but, faced with the alternative, decided to give the Mullens her support. Suddenly, it was all decided: Raymond will rent the pub to Scarlett and Jimmy while he's away! Sharon wouldn't get that lump sum she had her heart set on.
Lenny chucked Nicki out of the portable building and she was mad when she realised it was Amber who had set her up! Her friend had all the best intentions though and her plan worked - Nicki had to return to Deek and Bob's, who were happy to look after her. Shirley, too, was delighted. Amber was in bits but Nicki eventually saw sense and they made friends again. Together, they decided to set up the interfering Bob and Deek. They sent them to the Tall Ship on the promise of a Hallowe'en themed night but the boys were the only ones in there dressed as schoolgirls! Uh oh.
Scott left Eilidh with Ruth for the day but she clearly couldn't cope. Gina popped round to check on her but Ruth insisted everything was just fine. Determined to be left alone, she sent Scott and Manu out for the evening but her daughter's crying got too much and she left Eilidh alone in the flat! Scott returned and started a search of Shieldinch. It was Malcolm who found her and he did his best to reassure her - her gran had trouble bonding with baby Eileen so it's not as easy as folk would have you believe! Malcolm's words failed to have the desired effect. Ruth decided enough was enough and handed Eilidh over to Scott to look after. She doesn't want to be a mum any more!
