After Ruth's outburst you might expect her to be in bits but, no, the next day she was carrying on like nothing was wrong. As far as she's concerned, she's the injured party and Zoe's a lying, filthy midden. Gina was worried about her daughter and Malcolm was appalled by her behaviour. Meanwhile, Dr Lau advised her to take her maternity leave early.
Scott confronted Ruth ('cos he and Manu's reputation had been badly damaged) but she showed no remorse. Jo had a go at her and threatened to leave the flat but was surprised when Ruth agreed! Jo had to find somewhere else to live but Heather wasn't exactly overjoyed to find Jo and her kids moving into her posh place!
Zoe was in a terrible state - Rory was furious and a disgusted Nicki refused to talk to her. Deek and Carly were there to help but she couldn't stop fretting about her sister. Shirley persuaded Nicki to talk to Zoe but it wasn't pleasant, and Nicki left to go stay with Shirley. Rory demanded an explanation but Zoe was shocked to discover he wasn't so bothered about the prostitution - it was the lying he couldn't bear. He doesn't think he can trust her again.
Things got even worse when Zoe ran into Ruth in the pub and Ruth attacked her! That was the final straw for Scott - he realised that Ruth had sat on her secret for months, building it up for revenge. He's had enough - he wants out of their deal. Gina was furious - she and Malcolm (with a little prompting from Liz) are going to be there for Ruth, even though she insists she's fine going it alone!
Ewan blamed Jo for Ruth's behaviour but his mum reminded him that he's here for revenge and he shouldn't lose sight of that. He decided to make it up to Jo, which put a smile on her face.
Shirley was horrified to find a note from Nicki - she ran away! Everyone panicked and even Rory chipped in to help Zoe. Word spread and everyone was concerned but it was Amber who was letting her friend hide out at the Murdochs. Nicki had convinced herself that she'd turn out like her mum, 'cos Zoe had. She confided in Amber, who was pretty shocked to hear about Nicki's background. Eventually, Rory twigged that Amber was lying and Amber found herself confronted by her parents, Rory and Shirley... and Nicki had to come out of hiding. Zoe was so relieved but Nicki quickly announced she's disowning her! Zoe was distraught.
Sharon kept winding Eileen up until she was forced into arranging a French themed menu at The Grill. Shona panicked but, having been a chef on cruise ships, it couldn't be too bad... could it? There were panics (and big laughs from the menu Iona attempted to translate into francais) but they pulled it off. Sharon was NOT happy. Eileen was sick of her interference and dug up her internet dating profile, only to discover some of the comments online suggested she was crazy!
