Determined to make a big impression on Ewan's mystery woman, Joanne got dolled up to the nines but was shocked to discover her meeting was with a much older woman! That woman made it clear that Jo wouldn't be in Ewan's life for long and the two love rivals had a vicious verbal battle. As far as Jo's concerned, Ewan can't resist her youthful good looks.
Meanwhile, Ewan had told Scott he could go ahead with the Montego Heights launch, which put Jo in the Murdochs' good books and won her an invite to a family dinner.
Ewan's mystery woman was clearly interested in the Murdoch family - she orchestrated a chat with Amber and quizzed her about her brothers. Amber got suspicious but whatever was discussed obviously tickled her fancy cos she invited the woman back home, interrupting a family dinner! Jo wasn't the only one shocked by this turn of events. The family were left reeling by the arrival of Mary, Ewan and Rory's mother!
Lydia was furious, especially when Lenny spent some time with Mary and the boys, reminiscing. Ewan was worried by his mum's arrival and she warned him not to get too cosy and to remember why he's there. We still don't know what they're up to!
Mary made sure Amber knew her mum's affair with Lenny had split up their marriage. Lydia was devastated and humiliated, and became convinced Mary's there to cause trouble. Sure enough, Mary told Lenny she's back for good.
Malcolm's efforts enticed a big bunch of folk to Liz's writers' group but Liz was unimpressed with their contributions. Deek's soppy poem and Malcolm's saucy limerick were not what she had in mind for her cultural gathering! However, she found out that Malcolm had done his bit to make the evening a success and she tenderly cooked dinner for him.
Eileen held interviews for a new chef but Sharon sabotaged them before 'helpfully' offering to take the job again. Eileen soon discovered what she'd been up to and confronted her but Sharon managed to manipulate Raymond into being her alibi.
Ruth became irritated by Manu and Scott's relationship, and causes a ruckus. The pair admitted they're serious about one another so Ruth went further. She told Manu that he'd be a big part of her baby's life, and he should join them at ante-natal classes!
As if that wasn't a frightening enough prospect for a new relationship, she informed him Scott had initially found him repulsive! Enough was enough. Manu caught up with his man and dumped him, classily chucking a glass of champers over him.
