Liz was mortified when Scarlett, Viv and Shirley teased her about her relationship with Malcolm. They were convinced they must be more than just friends, and Liz couldn't bear their jibes. Malcolm, however, decided to play them at their own game so he and Liz invited Shirley and Viv round for dinner then spent the evening flirting with Liz and spouting innuendo! Shirley and Viv were shocked and eventually left the 'amorous couple' to curl up with their electric blanket. By then, Liz and Malcolm had a little bit too much sherry and they nearly kissed!
Embarassed, they shuffled away from each other and tried to ignore the situation the next day. That wasn't easy cos Shirley and Viv had begun to spread the news about their flirting throughout Shieldinch! Liz tried to explain it had all been a joke but they weren't having any of it. Malcolm took drastic measures - he announced in the pub that there was nothing going on. Liz couldn't help feeling a little hurt.
Archie received divorce papers and stormed over to see Gina. She refused to take any of his grief and he was shocked when she chucked him out of the Oyster. She also reverted back to her maiden name which was cause for celebration!
Manu believed Scott was lying to Ruth about his sexuality and was pretty hostile towards him. Despite Scott's great design work, Manu sacked him because he can't trust him. Finally, everything (or everyone) came out. Scott admitted he's gay but also admitted Manu's a nightmare to work with. Ruth told them to sort themselves out. Shaken by the truth, Manu softened a little and the pair agreed to go for a drink together.
Raymond fretted, waiting on Sharon's return from Spain. She came back with a lovely tan and immediately aroused Shona and Eileen's suspicions. Pretending to grieve, Sharon tried to make them feel bad but ended up getting sacked by Eileen for slacking in the kitchen. Eileen had planted a seed of doubt in Raymond's mind and he fought with Sharon about her weekend but she managed to claw her way out of the situation and convinced him she wasn't lying. Believing every sob story, Raymond decided to look after her and announced to the pub that she's his new barmaid!
Ewan realised that Archie and Jo hate each other so rediscovered his interest in her. The pair flirted, much to Archie's disgust, and arranged a date.
Exam results were out and Amber was beaming cos hers were great. Jamie's, sadly, weren't. He hid his results, preferring to concentrate on his ever-increasing obsession with Iona. Tina couldn't figure out why he was the only one without results but he just snapped at her.
It was Iona's 30th birthday and she felt OLD! She didn't want to celebrate it but was eventually talked into going for a drink with Deek. He'd bought her a lady shaver! She was not impressed. Jamie hated Iona's relationship with Deek, especially when she 'proved' it by showing him a naked pic of Deek (which she'd got from Carly). Carly unwittingly told Deek that nothing was going on there, and told him Iona needed to be romanced! After she refused his invitation to go clubbing, and returned his gift of a book of love poems, Jamie decided to do something bolder for Iona.
After a couple of drinks, Iona decided to live a little and go out on the town with Carly. She nipped home to get changed but was shocked to find candles all over her flat and a lovingly-crafted sketch of herself. She called the police and bravely stepped further into the flat... only for Jamie to pop up behind her with a 'Happy Birthday'. She screamed! We don't think that's going to go down very well...
