Ewan upset Lydia again when he made a shady business call from the house. She had a go at home and told him to keep his dad's business away from home. He took no notice of her and smugly did what he wanted. Lenny tried to force peace by coercing Ewan into buying dinner for the whole family, to make it up to Lydia. She made it clear he had some making up to do, too, so he responded with a surprise trip to Rome. That did the trick but Ewan taunted her by reminding her of the great lifestyle Lenny's criminal activities provide.
Viv flirted with Raymond and he seemed pretty happy with the attention. Determined to find a man for Shirley, she helped her friend pick out some profiles from the dating website. Viv reckoned a younger man would be just the ticket, and found one online. They look at the guy's photo... and guess who it was?! It was Raymond!! Later, at Raymond's karaoke night, Viv made it clear they'd discovered his secret!
Shirley got a visitor! Fi returned from Millport for a visit but the arrival of Shirley's old friend made Viv jealous.
Jimmy was mourning Alfie, and was unimpressed with Scarlett's uncaring attitude. She tried to make amends and brought Alfie's ashes home from the vet so Jimmy could scatter them and say a proper goodbye. Jimmy was grateful but Charlie was horrified when Scarlett confessed that it wasn't just Alfie's ashes in there! It was quite possibly full of cats, budgies and all sorts. Ugh.
Iona tried to help Jamie when she spotted his discomfort around Ewan, and Jamie told her what had happened with Amber. He can't stop thinking about Iona's tale from beyond the grave and asked her if she really did hear from his dad. Feeling guilty that she'd kickstarted this whole thing, she comforted him and told him what he wanted to hear - his dad is at peace.
Scarlett was up to her eyes in wedding preparations but she's not even got a dress yet! The wedding's only six weeks away and she drafted in Gina as her matron of honour. All the wedding talk put a spring in Douglas's step, and he told Gina he wished they could be married, properly. She was pretty shocked when he asked her if they could renew their wedding vows. Weighed down with the truth about Archie's disappearance, she decided she couldn't possibly marry Douglas without telling him what really happened! She tried to confess but he wouldn't listen. The past is in the past.
Or is it? He got one heck of a shock when he spotted Fi in the pub. Douglas went a bit woozy and everything blurred. The sight of Fi had triggered his memory! Gina was worried when he disappeared out the pub and went looking for him. He said he felt a bit unwell but 'I'll be myself in no time'. Archie's back!
