Ewan tried to charm Kelly-Marie again, but she told him Scarlett would go mad if they were seen together. He decided to try to solve the problem between Lydia and Scarlett. When Kelly admitted her mum was probably too proud to even accept the Murdoch's prize, Ewan convinced Lydia to offer the prize again. True to form, Scarlett threw it back in her face (which is just as well 'cos Lenny is hiding out in Spain) and the battle was over. Ewan still couldn't get anywhere with Kelly though 'cos this is war.
Paul was moping about the house, beating himself up about the fact he'd made friends with his dad's killer. Jamie was trying to focus his attention on his exams, and move on, and tried to help his brother do the same. Paul had lost all faith in the police and lashed out, smashing his dad's commendation certificate. He apologised and Jamie ultimately took the blame when his mum spotted it. Scott was trying to help Tina through it too - she thought everything would be better when Eddie's killer was charged but it's not. She needs closure but it's not easy.
Bob was furious with Iona 'cos it was her crystal ball gazing that had led to him accusing Jean. Charlie was mad, too, and it was clear he was going to have to say sorry. By this time, Jean had left the flat and headed for her sister's place but Bob eventually managed to catch her and they had a heart-to-heart. He apologised and explained how much he loves Charlie. Jean can see they're good together so she backed down and moved back in. Charlie didn't seem too chuffed that her mum was back to play gooseberry, though!
Eileen was obviously delighted that Gina had finally seen that Douglas is really Archie, and did all she could to keep the pair apart. Jo joined in the manipulation, but Ruth managed to help her mum. In the cold light of day, Gina realised she'd jumped to conclusions and eventually admitted to her daughter that she's fallen in love with Douglas but she's really scared. Ruth made her see that she has to listen to her heart, not her head.
Liz, not realising the depth of feelings between the pair, was also doing her bit to rekindle their friendship. Finally, Gina met up with Douglas. She apologised and told him to kiss her, but he can't get past the look she gave him when she thought he was Archie. How can they ever get past his past? He walked away, leaving a sobbing Gina.
