News filtered through Shieldinch that Whiteside had been arrested for Eddie's murder, but there were a lot of unhappy people. Harry was furious that Hobbs had decided to close the case and Lenny was going to get away with murder. Jodie tried to reassure him that they were doing the right thing but Harry wouldn't be placated. He was so disgusted that he decided to resign! Scott, Tina and the boys couldn't believe that Lenny had run off and Whiteside was being held responsible, and a visit from Harry didn't make things any better. Jamie was raging cos of the pain Harry had put his mum through (and for what?!), Paul refused to believe his pal Whiteside had anything to do with his dad's death, whilst Tina and Scott were just a bit shellshocked.
Something Jodie had said made Harry think twice about admitting to them what had really happened so he made out that Whiteside really had killed Eddie. It was a hard fact to accept but they didn't have a choice, and Harry broke the news of his resignation. When he left the Hunters for the last time, he told Scott that they could never know the truth.
Lydia was covering for her husband's disappearance, citing work as the reason and, at the same time, wondering where her pal Jodie had disappeared to. Ewan warned her (on Lenny's behalf) to keep away from her 'interior designer' but didn't explain why, so she decided to keep Lenny's whereabouts from his son. She wasn't in the best of moods and Zoe felt she got the brunt of it on her first day at Hola. After a bit of a misunderstanding, Lydia assured her she was pleased to have her working there.
Lydia also found herself at war with Scarlett (no surprise there) when she tried to renege on the raffle prize. Scarlett was determined to get her free week at the Murdoch residence in Spain but even Shona's powers of persuasion couldn't shake Lydia's resolve. Scarlett might've hit the nail on the head when she reckoned it's all been called off cos Lenny's hiding out there!
Bob was distinctly unimpressed when Jean turned up at the flat, with her worldly possessions! Her flat had flooded so she has to move in with Charlie and Bob. Bob was convinced something was up so called the council to find out what had happened. He got his facts wrong, which led to him accusing Jean of lying, which led to a messy conversation... and Bob found himself stuck with his future mother-in-law in residence.
Viv was settling in nicely at Moda Vida, and Shirley obviously loved having her there. She even offered her a place to live! Eileen called upon their services, rather sneakily, when she realised that Douglas had made an appointment there. He wanted his grizzly hair and beard tidied up but Eileen convinced them to take it one step further. Douglas emerged from the salon, clean-shaven, and looking just like Archie. Gina was happily waiting for him in the pub for a date but was horrified when 'Archie' walked in. He couldn't understand her reaction and Eileen, naturally, was on hand to mop up her sister's tears. She took her in for the night and warned Archie/Douglas not to come near Gina again!
