Marty was furious when he got a letter at home from the doctor. Ruth, of course, wanted to know what it was all about and fussed and fretted around him. He told her everything was just fine but she's not stupid. Dr Lau wouldn't tell her what was going on, and Marty made matters worse when he had a nasty go at the doc, accusing her of interfering. She told him he's obliged to tell his wife what's wrong but Marty wouldn't listen. As Ruth got more and more worried, she decided to do something drastic and got hold of his medical notes. Just how is she going to react to the news that her husband has syphilis?

Scarlett came up with all sorts of ideas to invest Jimmy's winnings in and finally settled on her money-making scheme. She wants to sell things by internet auction and got all dolled up as a pseudo-businesswoman to put her proposal to Deek. She wants to use Lazy Rays as a base but even her astonishing use of words like "net profit" wasn't enough to convince him. She stormed out, throwing some typical Scarlett insults back at him!

Rory asked Zoe out to a gig but she was cagey. He tracked her down at home, having realised she'd lied about being too busy to see him, and asked her what was going on. She was pretty rude to him as she explained she was too busy for romance. Eventually, she told him straight - she doesn't want him in her life.

Gerry told Heather he'd chucked the charlie and was getting his life on track... but it wasn't enough to win her back. He even did what he should've done in the first place - he gave Whiteside the name of his dealer, which (according to their deal) cleared Heather of all charges. He hoped this would be exactly what she wanted but it was too late - she's had enough of his lies and couldn't forgive him for not doing the right thing sooner. He tried to drown his sorrows in the Ship but was met by a disapproving Scott. It was pretty obvious that Gerry was on something and Scott had a go at him about his behaviour. As he tried to throw him out of the pub, Gerry collapsed! He was whisked away by ambulance, quickly followed by a shocked Heather.

It wasn't good news - he'd suffered a mini-stroke, which was likely brought on by his cocaine use, and it was heart-breaking watching him hooked up to all the hospital gadgetry. He didn't want to see Heather but Scott explained how worried they were. Heather got frustrated not seeing him so snuck into the room whilst Scott was putting her side across - she feels really guilty and is scared he hates her. Just as Gerry managed to get out "I love her", she rushed to his side and he had another attack...
