Scarlett's wedding plans were getting out of control and it was clear that part of her motivation was to get one over on Charlie. Jimmy was growing more and more concerned about the financial implications of the wedding and asked Raymond to put a bet on a horse for him - he needs this money! Raymond, however, was far too distracted by Polly and mixed up the name of the horse AND the race! Amazingly, he hit the jackpot. The old nag he'd picked by mistake won and Jimmy pocketed £10,000! Meanwhile, Scarlett had decided she'd lost sight of what's important and didn't deserve a fancy wedding so by the time she heard Jimmy's great news, she had another plan for the money. She wants to start a family business!
Shona was worried about her plans to do something for the community as it looked like there was little interest but she was relieved when all the local ladies joined her at the Ship to make plans. They all jumped at her idea to turn Conway Spices into a community centre and started planning fund-raising!
Amber had spread gossip round school about Jamie's abilities in bed and when word got back to him he was livid. Advice from his little brother was never going to be good but he took it and decided to dump Nicki. She was horrified and was forced to confess she'd spoken to Amber but she'd only told her she was messed up about it - not that he was rubbish. They argued but instead of breaking him, they became a bit passionate and slept together again. And this time they looked very happy about it!
Marty had another appointment with Dr Lau and tried his best to find a solution that doesn't involve telling Ruth he has syphilis. It was awkward for the doc cos Ruth's a friend and colleague but he HAD to do it - taking the medication isn't enough cos if he's passed on the disease then Ruth could become infertile. He tried to ignore the situation but all Ruth can talk about is having a baby... and it just so happened she was at her most fertile and was determined to take him to bed. Meanwhile, Zoe was horrified when they bumped into each other and he told her she'd ruined his life by giving him syphilis. Marty packed a bag - leaving Ruth would be so much easier than coping with the mess he was in - but he couldn't bring himself to go. Instead, he allowed Ruth to lead him to bed.
