Ruth and Jo
Ruth told Jo all about Liz's 'breakdown'
1 of 6
  • Ruth and Jo
  • Lenny, Lydia and Amber
  • Jimmy and Scarlett
  • Gerry
  • Jo
  • Rory

Just as we thought Gina had spilled the beans to Jo, Liz walked in and immediately figured out what she was up to. Using every excuse in the book, she kept Jo and Gina apart while Jo champed at the bit to find out what her mum was going to say. Ruth told her that Liz had had a breakdown, told everyone she'd killed Archie, then tried to kill herself so Jo reckoned that was what it was all about. Meanwhile, Liz warned Gina that her loyalty is to her and Eileen - they have to keep their secret! In other news, Ruth offered to have everyone round for Christmas dinner but she was put out when Jo said she'd help, and Ruth realised she'd be competing for attention again.

Heather set off for Australia, leaving Scott in charge of keeping Gerry out of trouble. Unfortunately, Gerry's coke habit is out of Scott's control.

Scarlett and Jimmy's morning-after-the-night-before vibe embarrassed Kelly-Marie and she joked about "no sex before marriage". That got the pair thinking... independently they started planning to propose to the love of their life on Christmas Day! Jimmy got Bob on side whilst Scarlett confided in Kelly. Charlie announced to Bob that she'd booked them into a fancy hotel in the country for Christmas. He seemed reluctant but he was in no position to argue. As soon as Jimmy got wind of this he used his race winnings to book the whole family in! That wiped the smile off poor Charlie's face.

Lydia got a lovely shock when Lenny unveiled their new home and she immediately set about getting it ready for the holidays. Amber explained to Lenny that the only way he'd really put a smile on her mum's face would be to get Rory home so he used his unique powers of persuasion to do just that. Lydia was delighted but it was clear there's no love lost between Rory and his dad.

Eventually Gina and Jo got time to themselves. Jo was furious that Liz had put her through all that trauma, and that she seems to be bossing her around! Gina flipped and told her she owes everything to Liz... and she soon told a horrified Jo what had really happened to Archie.
