The Adams family, clad in the kind of choice festive gear you'd expect, forcibly brought the Christmas spirit to Shieldinch but their grotto had a slow start. Luring kids and their mums in with chocolate did the trick, while Jimmy made a covert call to McCabe and a bunch of toys fell off the back of a sleigh right into their grotto. Business was booming until Lydia got in the way. She was fed up with the noise and they, frankly, lowered the tone so she wouldn't join in any reindeer games. Instead, she made a call to the police and a mouthy Scarlett found herself defending their lack of licence, not to mention the required check to work with children. She met her match in a female police officer though and was carted off to the station!
Sonny had far bigger plans to make money - he went to see Gerry with the intention of buying the Conway Spices building. Gerry told him he was too busy and it wasn't really his field but a big wad of cash soon changed his mind. Sonny wants to keep his new scheme to sell burgers quiet for now.
Heather decided she wanted to spend Christmas with her daughter but Gerry hit the roof and refused to go to Australia. The pair fought and dragged poor Scott into it time and time again. Happily, after some wise words from Sonny, Gerry backed down and told Heather she should go to see Freya by herself.
Liz discovered living with Malcolm wasn't going to be easy. Both are pretty set in their ways and Malcolm's horse-racing and nature shows didn't go with Liz's classical concerts. Gina reassured Liz that she's part of the family and the three had a very successful bonding dinner... until the doorbell brought an almighty surprise. Ruth brought some unexpected guests - Joanne, with Franco and baby Romeo!
