Niamh was shaken after seeing news in the paper about a body being found, and proceeded to take everything out on Fi. Not only had she driven her daughter to suicide, but now Archie too! Fi was knocked for six. Shirley found her looking a bit lost, whilst Gerry was trying to deal with the fact his partner hadn't shown up at court! Fi admitted to Shirley that this Archie business was getting to her, bringing up too many home truths about her family, and nearly driving her to drink. Shirley tried some shock tactics to make her see sense but it went horribly wrong and Fi stormed off. Happily, she didn't go to the pub. Instead, she told Gerry she needed some time away and handed over the reins of the business to him (which he, not surprisingly, was delighted about). After mutual apologies with Shirley, she admitted her plans to go to Millport to get her head together.

Zoe was in a foul mood, trying to juggle her work and Uni, not to mention money. Making an essay her priority meant she was late for work at The Grill and a set-to with Liam made matters worse. Raymond made it clear she wasn't pulling her weight and, after witnessing another battle between her and Liam, he sent her home to calm down. But Zoe wasn't happy with that. Cutting off her nose to spite her face, she quit her job!

Eileen was avoiding Gina. Having to identify a body had affected her badly and she wished she'd never got involved with the Buchanan ladies' cover-up. Gina eventually tracked her down and was horrified to hear Eileen has decided to stay out of things from now on. Liz was imagining all sorts and was convinced Eileen would go to the police. Gina was still recovering from her sister's decision when Niamh turned up. Liz somehow snapped into 'normal' mode and welcomed her in, taking charge of the situation. Gina couldn't deal with Niamh's concern though and told her she knew about her affair with Archie! Niamh was shocked and tried to explain that it had been complicated. Anyway, how did she find out? After a wavering moment, Gina told her Archie had confessed and there was no way he would run away with a tart like her! Niamh was chucked out the house and it was up to the newly-strong Liz to try to knock some sense into her. Niamh could put two and two together now, and go to the police! What HAS Gina done?
