Liam stormed round to Iona's to see Alanna, to find out why she's been weird lately, but he was shocked to hear she'd taken off. She went to catch up with her mum and Sonny on the cruise and had left her boyfriend a note. That wasn't enough for Liam though - he was mad! He doesn't want to see her again, no matter what consoling words Iona had to offer.

A surly Zoe's moaning and whining about work got Liam's back up and he took out some of his anger on her before Raymond stepped in. Zoe, however, wasn't best pleased. Things got worse when she was stood up by her posh friends so she found herself having drinks with Angela, one of the 'escorts' currently working at Lazy Rays. Zoe was complaining about being skint but Angela assured her things would work themselves out.

Kelly-Marie and Bob were worried about their mum but Scarlett wasn't having any of it. Kelly forced Jimmy to talk to her and he explained he doesn't think Scarlett really fancies him - she only slept with him that once because Michael had turned her down! Kelly confronted Scarlett with this information and started to wonder why she always goes for men who she can't really have.

Liz was in a terrible state, cleaning to try to get rid of the 'evidence' and panicking about the paparazzi and press outside. Gina had to be strong and tried her best to talk some sense into her - they have to pretend to grieve! Eileen had to step in, too, when Malcolm and Ruth came round and it was clear Liz wasn't holding it together so she suggested everyone leave "to give them some peace".

Meanwhile, Fi had read the papers and was horrified by the latest news about Archie. Rona's suicide was clearly on her mind and it was Gerry who angrily explained that none of this is Fi's fault. Archie must be cowardly - there's no way Gerry believes he's dead! He must've run away!

Marty told Niamh the police had found Archie's car and suicide note. She had to pretend to be only vaguely interested but she quickly caught up with Yvonne and decided she doesn't believe Archie's dead. He must've run away! Yvonne mooted the point he might have another woman but Niamh didn't want to believe that. She headed over to the Buchanan house to see what she could find out.

Liz let her in whilst Gina was sleeping but become more and more distressed by Niamh's persistent questioning. Archie's lover was pretending to be kind and caring but she was digging for all she was worth. Eventually, Gina found them and more or less threw Niamh out. Liz decided she couldn't do this any more - Niamh must know the truth so they'd have to go to the police before she said anything. Liz was all ready to confess and Gina had to slap her to stop her! Liz finally agreed - they'll take their secret to the grave.
