Liz and Gina were horrified by the situation they found themselves in - Archie's body was lying at their feet and Liz was responsible. Liz blurted out to Gina what Archie had been up to - he'd been planning to run away with Niamh and fake his own suicide! Gina didn't believe it until she saw the suicide notes, then she was raging. Liz started talking about calling the police but Gina immediately panicked cos she doesn't want Archie's death ruining Liz's life. It might've have been self-defence but would the police really believe that?

Elsewhere, Niamh was becoming increasingly impatient, waiting on her lover, and her attempted call to Archie was the last straw for Gina. Whilst Liz panicked, Gina tried to think things through and enlisted Eileen's help. Eileen was shocked to find out what was going on and tried to talk Gina out of her plans but as far as she was concerned, if Archie wanted to disappear then he will! Eileen felt a sisterly duty to help but her resolve was shaken when she returned home and saw Harry at the bar.

Unaware of all this death and trauma, the rest of Shieldinch was ticking along. It was Marty and Ruth's wedding anniversary and he nearly incurred Ruth's wrath when she thought he'd forgotten. Scott had done some lovely designs for him to give her - plans of their flat after Marty's promised revamp. She was delighted!

Heather made a momentous gesture - she gave Gerry a set of keys for her flat. They seemed very happy to be back together but Gerry obviously needed a little extra boost cos he went straight to Jake and scored some more coke.

Paul had another fight with Tina and snuck out in the middle of the night. He happened to see Billy come home from a late night out with a mystery woman. As Billy took the lady home to tuck him into bed, Paul sought revenge and knifed his car tyres. On his way home from an all-night party with Jake, Scott was shocked to see what Paul was up to and alerted Tina.

Niamh gave up on her escape plan and headed back to Med Dreams, gutted at Archie's disappearance.

Out in the middle of nowhere, Gina was doing her best to stay strong for Liz's sake - her mother-in-law was becoming hysterical. The three women drove out to a clifftop and prepared to throw his body over the edge. Liz was completely dazed by the situation and Eileen was sick. Gina and Eileen somehow managed to keep it together and pushed him off the cliff. Gina immediately panicked and Eileen had to become the strong one.

They left his car and his suicide notes and, as they set off home, we saw Archie washed up on shore. But it's not the end… he started to move! He's alive!
