Robert trapped Shirley in her own flat with his menacing ways. He just couldn't understand why she'd cancelled their 'date' despite her protests that it was just a friendly outing. He was sure there was something more between them that just friendship. He's sick of George getting everything he ever wanted and it's about time he got what HE wanted. Meanwhile, Nicki was having a nice flirty game of netball with Jamie and it looked like something could be developing between them! She left to go see Shirley, with the promise of a text later. Don't go, Nicki!! But she did. And she quickly got held hostage by Robert. She tried to use her mobile to get help but it beeped and Robert grabbed it. Jamie called but was sent to her voicemail as Robert smashed the phone.

He told them about Moira, about how he was devastated to have lost her and his baby to George. And George took over his mother, too, looking after her when she was drunk, "keeping her from him"! By this time he had a knife so Shirley and Nicki were helpless. In other news, Billy told Tina the ball's in her court. He really likes her but it's up to her what happens next. Billy had also spotted Robert at Shirley's window but didn't really think much about it until he was talking to Malcolm in the pub. The two shared their suspicions of Robert over a dram or two, and were pleased to realise that someone's on to him. Malcolm told him how Nicki felt about him and Billy tried to call Shirley to get through to her… but Robert wouldn't let her answer the phone.

Shirley tried to change the mood by comforting Robert. She's so sorry he's gone through all this, and she's sorry if she's led him on. She pretended to be falling for him, obviously as a ruse to let Nicki get free. She tried to get him to let the girl leave so they could be alone but he insisted she stay, and tied Nicki up in the kitchen. He started to kiss Shirley but she just couldn't cope with it. She asked for a minute cos so much was going on but just as he was making more amorous moves upon her, Billy and Malcolm had FINALLY decided something must be up and they headed over to the flat. As they knocked on the door, Nicki let out a muffled scream and managed to alert them. Billy burst down the door and untied her. He ran to help Shirley but Robert rushed past him and managed to cut him with the knife. He grabbed Nicki and held her, determined to make someone pay. She hit him and got away but fell and hid her head. As everyone went to help Nicki, Robert ran off…
