Robert asked Shirley to dinner as a thank you for taking him into the family. He hide his annoyance when she suggested inviting Nicki, too, but Nicki didn’t want to go anyway and quickly made up an excuse. Billy was a bit irked to hear about the dinner but Malcolm advised they should be civil for Shirley’s sake. Malcolm and Nicki couldn’t understand why Robert was being so friendly but they don’t know that while he was impressing Shirley with his culinary skills, he nicked the keys to her flat…

Charlie was fully in shopping mode, desperate to get what they needed for the new flat, but Bob wasn’t quite so keen. He was forced into a shopping trip and his panic got worse as Charlie suggested opening a joint account! Archie’s arrest was all over the papers. Gerry and Fi were concerned they would be tarred with the same brush but decided their priority should be convincing their clients of their innocence. Gerry seemed motivated but quickly headed to Versus to drown his sorrows. He can’t believe he’s been betrayed by his mentor and it was Heather who convinced him he had to get on without Archie.

Meanwhile, the errant lawyer was still spinning his family a story about this whole thing being a mistake but he was soon arrested again for fraud. Liz was happy that Niamh was doing what she could to help but it wasn’t enough for Gina, who headed down to the police station to find out what was going on. Archie tried to convince her all would be well but she was devastated to hear he was being kept in overnight, and it could lead to a spell in jail.
