Robert gave some consoling words to Jamie but there was an underlying nastiness which didn’t go past Nicki. She shouted at him, told him he was evil and then confided her fears in Malcolm. She’s worried Robert might actually hurt someone so Malcolm decided it’s about time he has a wee word with him. Billy, too, seems to be increasingly wary of George’s long-lost brother and Robert did his best to wheedle information out of Shirley about her hairdressing partner. Charlie got really excited at the prospect of using the compensation money to buy a fancy new flat with Bob. Bob wasn’t so keen though and told her he didn’t think it felt right. However, they finally agreed to buy one of the flats Marty’s building and signed on the dotted line. Marty, however, seemed a bit cagey about when they’d be ready. Lenny crowed about Bob & Charlie’s windfall, and had the gall to suggest he may be getting some compensation himself. Then he sniffed around Marty, offering to buy 10 flats, but Niamh’s warnings about the gangster’s reputation fell on deaf ears.
Archie tried to pull the wool over Fi’s eyes again but it was too late. He was rumbled. He admitted the whole truth to an appalled Fi. The embezzlement, the relationship with Niamh, the fire and, on top of all that, he told her about drugging Liz. He hoped this was enough to stop her going to the police – Gina and Liz would be destroyed! His life is in Fi’s hands and it was all too much for her. After catching sight of Gina in the street, she realised there’s just no way they can get through this without anyone being hurt. Has she made a decision? Shona felt wretched and Iona felt helpless as her sister gave up hope on getting Raymond back. Meanwhile, Tony had a pop at Raymond, making sure he knows just who Shona’s married to. Liam tried to advise Raymond that things only get sorted out when people talk to each other. Shona finally told him it’s him she wants but Raymond can’t bear it and threw her out.
Harry was enraged by Lenny’s presence in Shieldinch and told him there’s no way he’s getting away with murder. His threats amused Lenny, which made matters worse. It ended in a bit of physical fisticuffs which wiped the smile off Lenny’s face, although he insists he’s not afraid of Harry. Their confrontation was the talk of the steamie though and Whiteside wasted no time in telling Harry off, and warned Lenny to stop messing about. Lenny made sure Whiteside knows he’ll take him down with him if necessary.
