At a fancy hotel in the Borders, Shona and Raymond began their preparations for their wedding. Shona bonded with her hairdresser and chatted about the ex-loves of her life, while Raymond and the gardener (we don’t want to spoil the illusion that this is real life, but the gardener was played by the fantastic Tony Roper) shared life stories over a few drams. Those poor bystanders were most shocked by the pair’s history of spouses and their siblings!

Meanwhile, Tony continued to harass Iona and was most perturbed to find out Shona’s off to marry Raymond. He got a bee in his bonnet and set off to follow them. Iona did her utmost to stop him in a series of comedy encounters but just as he was about to abandon her in the middle of a country road, he revealed his motive: Shona’s still married to him; they were never divorced!

Back at the hotel, Raymond and Shona dragged their new friends into the wedding ceremony and the groom was blown away by the sight of his bride. As it got to the vows, Shona’s words stuck in her throat a little (and now we know why) but there was nobody there to know of any lawful impediment to halt the ceremony and they became husband and wife! Aaaw. Just as they drove off, Tony turned up. He’d missed them. But he can wait – he’s not going to let this one go…
