Scarlett had an unpleasant lunch with Charlie and Terri – her arch enemy was determined to stir things up and made a big point of flirting with Jimmy, which flustered Scarlett. Charlie’s life picked up when Liz grudgingly forgave her for breaking the vase and agreed she could come back to work. Her arm had been twisted behind her back by Gina but the sentiment was there, and she got a great big hug in return. Shona was still annoyed at Iona for making her late for her meal with Raymond, but there was something far more important to fret about – Iona spotted Shona’s ex-husband, Tony, in Shieldinch! Shona got hysterical and panicked but calmed down when she made a mystery call about filling in some forms on the internet. Ach, we don’t trust that internet thing. It’ll never catch on.
Fi cried on Shirley’s shoulder and explained her family history. She turned to drink when she realised she wasn’t happy with her husband, and realised she was gay. Her children never forgave her for walking out on them – Rona also turned to booze, ended up in prison and killed herself the day she’d finally agreed Fi could visit, and Fi hasn’t seen her son Cameron for fifteen years. Shirley persuaded her she should go and see him so she decided to take off for a few days. Gerry apologised to her for being so wrong about Niamh, while Niamh revelled in the fact she’d driven Fi out of town and turned her attention to making Archie lose everything. Even her sidekick Yvonne tried to warn her she’s investing too much energy in bringing him down.
Paul wound Tina up, suggesting Billy’s her boyfriend, and wouldn’t let it rest. He yelled at her that he didn’t know why she and Eddie had the boys cos neither of them wanted them. Tina just couldn’t get through to him. Harry told Scott that a file on Lenny had been altered to reduce his blame in the Docks incident. Then Elaine told him something sooo shocking that they didn’t even let us viewers know about it! Harry tried to continue his snooping but Whiteside took him to one side and crudely told him to keep out of things. Elaine was followed by some familiar looking baddies and Harry got some more very interesting information – Lenny’s alive! He can’t be! But he is! We finally saw him with our own eyes, meeting up for a cosy chat with Whiteside.
