Shirley arrived home early from her holidays, only to find her front door kicked in and Robert relaxing in George's armchair! She went mad when she realised George's things had been given away to charity while Robert tried to play it down, saying he was acting in her best interest. Then she discovered her wedding video in the bin and she lost it! She physically threw Robert out of the house. When Nicki told her Robert had claimed he was there because Shirley asked him to be, Shirley realised that Robert is not all he seems…

In the aftermath of Madonna's disappearance, Scarlett was frantic with worry, desperately trying to get through to Jimmy's mobile… but there was no answer. She left an abusive voice mail, telling him to bring back Madonna, while Bob tried to calm her down. Charlie wanted to call the police but Scarlett was reluctant cos she was certain that Jimmy had her. After a few restless hours, Scarlett saw Jimmy's taxi arrive and screamed at him "where is she?" but it then became obvious to everyone that he didn't have her - Madonna is with a stranger! Coincidentally, Ruth disappeared at the same time as Madonna, and Marty shared his suspicion with Gina that Ruth might have taken her. Gina was appalled until Marty reminded her that Ruth had once taken Franco, and they realised that Ruth hasn't been taking her medication.

Ruth, however, was innocent, and was just having a walk in the park! She stumbled across Madonna with Lindsay, the girl she'd met in the surgery - it turned out she's lost her own baby and hadn't recovered. Ruth tried to keep her talking and texted Marty to let him know. Unfortunately Marty got the text when he was with the Adams family and Jimmy got suspicious when he ran off. Marty got to the park to find them but was trailed by Jimmy. Jimmy lost the plot, believing Ruth had stolen his daughter. He punched Marty in the face but the real abductor admitted the truth and told him she never meant any harm. Ruth was praised and Madonna was happily reunited with her mum!
