A journalist was sniffing around Shieldinch trying to find out what happened to Eddie. He found Charlie laying flowers outside the flat and got her talking - she told him she wouldn't speak to a reporter but when he said he'd have to doorstep the family, she told him Eddie had saved her life. Scott was in bits and told Ruth he wished he'd died instead of Eddie. Heather promised to keep an eye on him but as Ruth worried, Marty got more concerned for her own health and persuaded Malcolm to talk to her. She insisted she's fine but she doesn't seem fine!

Robert and Raymond were clearing out George's things and somehow Raymond fell for Robert's sob story about wanting to be part of the family and get to know Derek. He got Raymond on side so when Deek had a go at Robert, Raymond tried to build bridges. Robert persuaded Deek they should be civil to each other for Shirley's sake but he pushed things too far by talking about Moira, and Deek rejected him again. Scarlett went for legal advice from Fi and was disappointed to hear she'd have to allow Jimmy access to Madonna, and that court should be a last resort. No sooner had she accepted this, she found out Charlie had let Jimmy see his daughter behind her back.

Scott shakily answered Harry's questions while Whiteside got up Tina and Billy's noses, insinuating something was going on between them and suggested Tina was the prime suspect! Whiteside's taking over Eddie's cases and wound Harry up when he told him Eddie "wasn't one of us". Then he got straight on the phone and made a very friendly call to the journalist to fill him in on Eddie's background!
