Ruth and Marty were avoiding each other but it can't go on. Both were apologetic - Ruth reckoned she'd pushed him to the brink and he was full of remorse for hitting her. He offered to call off the deal with Niamh but Ruth insisted he go through with it. They kissed and made up and might even consider trying for another baby. Archie was still celebrating Liz signing the house over to him and was incredibly lovey-dovey with Gina. Iona got her head bitten off when she presented Gina with a dry cleaning bill for her blouse, and ended up being banned from the café. Her sisters were unimpressed at having to clear up Iona's mess again but were banned too! So the Rossis were banned from the deli.

Niamh got half her money - not what she wanted but she gave him the tapes and she'll get the other half later. She got a ticket to Rio, too (Archie's plan to get rid of her), but she promptly signed a business deal with Marty so she's not going anywhere fast, a point she proved when she turned up at Liz's to celebrate the deal. She told Archie the blackmail was just the beginning… she's really going to make him pay. The big bucks made Ruth and Marty even happier, and it didn't do any harm to Gerry and Niamh's relationship either! Billy was enjoying spending time with Sammy, knowing that Della will soon be returning to Spain. Della and Tina had a girlie gossip and it's looking possible Billy and Tina like each other.

Eddie told Scott he's decided to come out at work but Scott was worried and told him he'd best get some advice from Harry first. Harry wasn't enthusiastic either and reckoned he'd be throwing away everything he's worked for. Deek's fed up with Alice's behaviour and refused to listen to her pleas. He threw her into the street and disowned her. Robert tried to give her the benefit of the doubt but as far as Shirley's concerned, Alice doesn't exist. Alice turned on the family and walked out of Shieldinch.
