Michael and Kelly-MarieMarty and RuthShirley and Alice

Michael accused Father Dominic of bullying and controlling him and forced Dominic into a position when he told Kelly Marie they had his blessing. Kelly Marie was still troubled but Shirley had some wise words, advising her not to do what others think you should, but carpe diem. Sieze the day. KM took her advice but before she could seize anything, Scarlett stepped in and repeated her disapproval. Michael made her a promise - if she doesn't let them get on with their lives, he'll tell her daughter what she's really like. Della spotted Billy and Tina together but Billy told her they're just pals. Tina had told him Paul was settling in well but she really misses him. They both bonded over their absent children. Meanwhile, Eddie booked a trip to see Paul next weekend, disappointing Scott but he promised he's going to be much more upfront in future.

Marty made Ruth take a day off and came up with an idea for closure. Eventually Ruth came round to the idea of a wee ceremony to say goodbye to their baby. Convinced she was having a girl, they named her Eilzabeth Naomi and set off a balloon in her memory. This seemed to help both of them and brought them closer together. They kissed so maybe it is time for forgiveness… Susie's dad, Jonny, was hiding something from her as she worried he's working too hard. The Rossis and the McIntyres continued to snipe at each other, causing a bit of a scene at the funeral but not nearly as big a one as Alice was about to make.

Alice took her time turning up to George's funeral - she's having so much difficulty coming to terms with the fact George wasn't her father, that she's resorted back to vodka. George had taken care of everything for his farewell and Shirley was happy to be surrounded by friends and family. Raymond made a touching speech about how honest his dad was but when Shirley got up to talk about how important George's family was to him, Alice couldn't keep quiet any longer. Loudly (and drunkenly) announcing he's a liar, she told the whole pub that she wasn't his daughter. Robert tried to calm her down but it all ended in a screaming match between Shirley and Alice. Alice suggested she'd poisoned her husband and was after Robert, Shirley slapped her and Alice staggered off alone.
