Liam couldn't figure out what was going on with Alanna - just as they seem to be getting closer, she pulls away, but Eileen told him she's worth waiting for. Alanna confided in Zoe that she's not felt like this about anyone since Vader and she's scared he'll dump her. George asked Malcolm to be his best man at his wedding (next week!!) but had to break the news of his terminal illness, which devastated Malcolm. Tina and Eddie saw Paul's psychologist but refused to mention his admission about the fires - Eddie was scared he'll want to send his son away so when Dr Sam suggested a residential therapy course it didn't go down well. Scott tried to make him see it might be best for Paul, and for Jamie.

Ruth's lost the baby! Marty was gutted but Scott was determined not to let him worm his way back into Ruth's affections. He forced Marty to admit his affair to Gina (without mentioning Iona's name) and she went mad! She threw him out but when a very distraught Ruth got up she asked to see her husband. Amazingly, she's taking him back - she doesn't want to lose her baby and her husband. That got Gina thinking so she went home to give Archie another chance but she was adamant things would change - no more telling her what to do. This is his very last chance. Archie was delighted but was fretting about Niamh's continued pressure about getting her money. That might explain why he's getting sleeping pills from a drug dealer and is still drugging a poor, confused Liz! Malcolm persuaded her to call the doctor about her drowsiness.

Shona went mad at Iona when she heard about Ruth's baby - it reopened lots of old wounds cos the same happened to her when Iona had an affair with her husband. Iona was shocked to hear the news and didn't want to accept the blame. Jimmy figured out that Michael's drunken ramblings had been about Kelly Marie and was prepared to give him the time of day about it but Scarlett wouldn't let the two near each other. Robert tried to get to know Alice while Deek was pushing Carly away - they decided to take a relationship break.
