Fi apologised to Shirley for not telling her about George's illness, she told her to make the most of the time they have together. Alice was upset about her dad and made Fi agree to put the past behind them. Despite his family's concerns, George decided to ask Shirley to marry him. He doesn't have time to worry about these things now! Everyone gathered in the Ship for The Bells, he proposed and Shirley said yes :)

Scarlett and Jimmy's Hogmanay looked like it'd be a quiet one as they fell asleep at home and left Bob to go out to enjoy himself. They all had surprises in store though - Charlie had changed her flight so she could see in the bells with Bob, and Kelly-Marie's back to meet her wee sister! Ruth and Marty were blissfully happy but Iona made some pointed remarks that prompted Marty to warn her to stay away from his family. Alanna and Liam were all loved up but Carly and Deek didn't look like love's young dream.

Gina was still really excited about Luca but Archie was 'worried' about Liz. In fact, Archie had quite a lot on his plate - he was still trying to get rid of a persistent Luca, and Niamh continued to hassle him. What goes around comes around, Archie. Jo was distracted as Billy looked forward to their best year yet. Luca tried again to find out about the baby but she insisted it's Billy's and she doesn't love Luca. Yeah, right. He wants her to leave with him and they can be a family together. In fact, they might've kissed if she hadn't gone into labour!! As they rushed to the hospital, Luca reluctantly called Billy who made him leave him and his fiancee to the birth of their new baby boy. Billy was soooo proud while Luca was finding it difficult to play the role of uncle.
