Archie's evil plan doesn't stop for the festive season. He hid his present from Liz, really confusing her. She wasn't quite with it anyway (Archie's probably still drugging her) and the whole family were worried about her. Marty and Ruth announced their happy baby news by presenting their scan photo in a gift to Gina! Iona got drunk and upset, and told her sisters Marty would still be with her if Ruth wasn't pregnant. He's the only man she's loved since… well, it sounds like she means Shona's husband. Planning to clear her head, she took off for some air and happened to pass a very happy Marty and Iona. Jo and Billy revelled in their happiness, too, but when Jo made a wish on a shooting star she opened her eyes to find Luca standing in front of her!

Santa's been, snow was falling, carols playing, and Eddie's Christmas tree was on fire. Uh oh. Paul's been up to his old tricks with his lighter and it seems it's all to bring his mum and dad together on Christmas Day cos there's no way they can stay at Eddie's. That means Scott's left on his own and Paul is very, very smug. George gathered his family together but got upset seeing them all so happy - this'll be his last Christmas. Shirley got suspicious as he sneaked away to see Jessica and when he tried to make a big announcement she laid into him, accusing him of an affair. He took a turn, worried everyone and told Raymond to call Jessica. She rushed round to help and Shirley went mad! Jessica revealed she's George's nurse and he had to admit to his distraught family that he has cancer, he's dying.

Charlie persuaded Bob to listen to her explanation and they made up! They started kissing but Bob didn't want to take things any further - it's too soon. Ach, no, it's not! He quickly changed his mind and they headed for the bedroom. And underneath the mistletoe at the Tall Ship, Alanna and Liam kissed! Scarlett's Christmas plans went awry as she went into labour. It took ages to get hold of Jimmy so by the time he found her the baby was well on its way. He rushed her to hospital in his cab but the baby wouldn't wait and he had to play midwife! Scarlett gave birth to a little baby girl, making Jimmy the happiest man alive. They've called her Madonna.
